KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – A woman who was struck from behind by an SUV Monday as she was walking along U.S. 131 in White Pigeon has died from her injuries at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
Michigan State Police say 24-year-old Kaylan Rider was walking home from her job just north of U.S. 12 when she was struck.
The driver of the SUV was a Plainwell man.
Troopers say the investigation remains open and charges will be submitted to the St. Joseph County prosecutors office for review.
They don’t believe alcohol was a factor.
Rider was a single mother and would have been 25 on Monday.
A gofundme page has been set up by her family to help defray funeral costs.
