COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A revised site plan for the proposed $16.4 million Sunset Meadows apartment complex on the northeast side of Coldwater was approved by the Coldwater City Planning Commission on Tuesday night. As developer Chad Bush pointed out, plans for an apartment complex at the site has been before Coldwater planners four times over the last decade.
The apartment complex would be built at the corner of Carriage Circle and Anderson Drive just northeast of the Willowbrook Plaza and north of the Home Depot store. City of Coldwater Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager Keith Baker said groundbreaking could take place this fall.
The latest proposed project has 210 units in nine buildings on over 15 acres of land. The site plan up for approval is smaller than previous proposals. The proposed project has nine buildings that would contain one and two bedroom apartments. There would also be a clubhouse with a leasing office, community room, garages and a pool.
Approval by the Planning Commission included several contingencies such as the complex would have to provide 386 parking stalls. Stormwater management must meet city engineering specifications and landscaping must meet city requirements.
