COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A public health dental center will soon be operating in Coldwater.
It will be operated by My Community Dental Centers on behalf of the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency.
The agency says the center will serve children and adults enrolled in Medicaid, including Delta Dental Healthy Kids, MiChild and the Healthy Michigan Plan, as well as low income, uninsured persons.
Persons with private insurance will also be served.
There are 29 MCDC public dental centers on behalf of local health departments in Michigan.
The health agency says the organization focuses on quality care that is patient-centered and patient-friendly.
Dr. Jacquelyn Merriman DDS and her staff joined the network of MCDC offices last month. Her dental office at 25 West Chicago in Coldwater is now accepting new patients as an MCDC provider.
The growing office will be relocating to a brand new state-of-the-art dental center at 384 East Chicago Street on the Community Health Center of Branch County campus in November.
It is anticipated that an additional dentist and support staff will join the center at that time. New patients interested in making an appointment can call 877-313-6232.
The health department is associated with dental centers in Hillsdale and in Three Rivers. A fourth center in Sturgis will be opening this fall.
