COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Jeff Budd told the Coldwater City Council on Monday night that a $60,000 grant from the Great Lakes Commission will pay for most of the ongoing work at Waterworks Park.
Budd says the project is designed to fix the erosion problem and restore native planting and grass along the river bank.
The drives to the far east of Waterworks Park Drive have been closed while the work is in progress. Budd says the closings are part of a plan to stabilize the river banks in the park as well as the skating pond. The required 20 percent match from the city will be covered by in-kind services by City and BPU crews.
Budd also reported that Megan Angell officially started as the full-time attorney for the City and BPU effective September 1, 2016 and that Kathi Holt is now an administrative assistant for the Neighborhood Services Department. She will be replacing Rose Thornton who is moving to a part-time position in order to complete her Master’s Degree.
