FABIUS TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Highland, Indiana man drowned in a St. Joseph County lake Friday after he fell out of a boat.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says the body of 55-year-old Clarence Payne Junior was recovered by divers in eight feet of water in Clear Lake.
Witnesses said they say Payne fall out of the boat and struggle in the water. They were unable to rescue him.
After Payne was pulled from the water, attempts to resuscitate him on shore were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead.
