PARMA, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater varsity team improved to 10-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the Interstate 8 Conference with a 6-0 win at Parma Western Monday. It was the 5th straight shutout for the Cardinals, who are ranked #8 again this week in the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association Division 2 Poll.
Jonathan Brownell had one of his two goals in the first half, giving the Cardinals a 1-0 halftime lead. Mana Ahmed also scored two goals, with single goals from Shuaib Aljabaly and Lukas Reusch. Anas Asker and Anthony Nunnally each had one assist. Balal Nasser had 2 saves in goal for his 8th shutout of the season, as Coldwater outshot Parma Western 18-2.
The Cardinals will host Jackson Northwest Thursday in I-8 play.
The Coldwater JV squad dropped their first match of the season on Monday as they were beaten by Parma Western 3-2 in an Interstate 8 match. Colby Schock and Shaif Ahmed scored for Coldwater. Goalkeeper Alex Schaale made three saves.

—GIRLS GOLF—
Coldwater finished third on Monday in the Onsted Invitational at the Devil’s Lake Golf Course. Adrian Madison won the event with a team score of 392, Napoleon was second with a 398 and Coldwater ended up with a 408.
Coldwater was led by Molly Smith who was runner-up for the event with a round of 90. Jayla Goodwin and Claire Sheppard each had 105’s and Hunter Jenkot and Gabriel Boston each shot 108. Micki Slack played as an individual and shot a 106 for the day.
CROSS COUNTRY—
Bronson’s boys finished second in their division last Saturday at the Holly Duane Raffin Festival of Races in Davisburg. Hanover-Horton finished first with 30 points followed by the Vikings and Whitmore Lake, each with 149.
Bronson’s Colin Ransbottom was 21st, Blake Bucklin was 24th and Luis DePaz was 29th.
The Bronson girls did not have enough runners for a team score. Xochita Garcia was the top finisher for the Vikings as she was 14th.
—GIRLS VOLLEYBALL—
Bronson remains second in Class C in the latest Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association poll. The 17-6-4 Vikings are once again behind Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central with Kalamazoo Christian ranked third. Harper Creek is ranked seventh in Class B, Schoolcraft is eighth in Class C while Mendon is second, Pittsford fifth and North Adams-Jerome ninth in Class D.-
–MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL—
The Coldwater 7th grade A team beat Lakeview in the finals on Saturday in the Marshall tournament 26-24 25-21 and went 5-1 on the day. Their overall record is 7-1.
