COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man is facing two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon following weekend confrontations at a baptism party.
35-year-old Fermin Rigoberto Castro was charged by Branch County prosecutors following a Quincy Police Department investigation into the alleged incident.
Court documents say the lives of two persons were allegedly threatened by Castro when he returned to the party with a butcher knife several hours after he had been assaulted and suffered burns and facial injuries at the gathering.
Bond has been set at $25,000 and Castro is to have no contact with the alleged victims.
Castro is scheduled to appear in Branch County District Court for a probable cause hearing on October 4 and a preliminary exam on October 11, 2016.
