SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A second Indiana woman has died from a traffic accident which happened Friday just south of Athens in Branch County’s Sherwood Township.
19-year-old Alexis Schroeder of Valparaiso died from her injuries at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
Michigan State Police say Schroeder was heading south on M-66 and failed to yield at the intersection with M-60 in Sherwood Township. Troopers say it appears she pulled out into the path of a tractor trailer which struck her vehicle broadside.
A front seat passenger, Corinne Johns of Porter, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 28-year-old truck driver from Union City was not injured.
