COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Hillsdale man was sentenced to the Michigan Department of Corrections on Tuesday in Branch County Circuit Court after he admitted his guilt to being in possession of child pornography.
43-year-old Troy Van Aken was given a sentence of between 29 months to four years for being in possession of child sexually abusive material and a concurrent sentence of 16 months to two years for attempted possession of child sexually abusive material.
Six other charges were dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for the guilty pleas.
Van Aken was on parole when he was arrested in June by Union City Police.
