QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school soccer Monday, Hillsdale topped Quincy 8-1. Today’s soccer schedule includes Coldwaterting Jackson Northwest in the first round of the Interstate 8 Conference Gold Division Tournament. The JV game begins at 5:00 p.m., with the varsity at 6:30 p.m. Both games will be played on the Cardinal Stadium turf football field.
The Cardinals are ranked #8 this week in the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association Division 2 Poll.

The Coldwater 8th grade volleyball teams took part in the Marshall Invitational on Saturday.
The A team played Marshall in the gold bracket and fell in two games 21-25, 17-25. Amber Sunderland had 13 points, 11 digs and 3 kills. Kaia Donay was strong at the net with 11 kills, 4 blocks, 3 digs and 8 points. Mia Rzepka 13 points 6 aces, 16 digs, 7 assists and one kill. AnnaKate Dwyer 10 points 7 aces, 4 digs and one ace. Victoria Gonzalez 9 points 2 aces, 8 digs and 3 kills. Veronica Gonzalez 7 points, 6 assists and 4 digs. Meg Smith 7 points 2 aces, 7 digs and 4 kills. Laynee Paarlberg 6 points, 3 digs, 2 kills and 10 assists (leading the team). Alyssa Bach 6 points 4 aces, and 5 kills. Jenna Juliean 5 points, 3 digs, 2 kills and 3 blocks. Madison Beckhusen 4 points all aces, 8 assists, 8 digs and 5 kills. Abby Herman 2 points, 9 kills and 8 digs.
The 8th grade B team had two ties and a loss in pool play but they came back in bracket play to win four consecutive matches beating Western and Delton Kellogg to bring home the Silver Championship. Leading the team on the service line was Lissbet Ramos with 24 points 8 aces, Lacy Janusz 19 points 11 aces, and Jadyn Richmond with 19 points 5 aces. Carly Gebbink, Allysa Stevens, and Joselyn Salto had 4 kills each, while Alyssa Fisher and Molly Lewis added 4 assists each. Marissa Cox and Julieanah Wild had 2 digs each.
The Cardinals travel to Charlotte on Tuesday.
