TORONTO, ONTARIO (WTVB) – The Cleveland Indians are just a win away from a trip to the World Series. The Indians beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 in Game Three of the American League Championship Series in Toronto.
Mike Napoli went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a solo homer for the Tribe, which leads the best-of-seven matchup three-games-to-none. Jason Kipnis homered in the sixth to put Cleveland ahead for good.
The Tribe lost starter Trevor Bauer after just four batters when his stitched up pinkie finger broke open and began bleeding. Six relievers followed, with Bryan Shaw getting the win and Andrew Miller the save. Marcus Stroman took the loss.
Michael Saunders homered for Toronto, which will try to avoid a four-game sweep on Tuesday.
The National League Championship Series resumes tonight with Game Three in Los Angeles. The Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers are tied at a game apiece after splitting the first two in Chicago. Jake Arrieta starts for Chicago, while Los Angeles sends Rich Hill to the mound.
