COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Groundbreaking for a new $16.4 million apartment complex on the northeast side of Coldwater took place Thursday morning.
Apartments at Sauk Trail is being built at the corner of Carriage Circle and Anderson Drive just northeast of the Willowbrook Plaza and north of the Home Depot store.
The complex will have 210 one and two bedroom apartments in nine buildings on over 15 acres of land. Plans also call for a clubhouse with a leasing office, community room, garages and a swimming pool.
Main Street Capital Group is developing the apartment complex after buying the property almost a decade ago.
The new complex is being built as the Clemens Food Group north of Coldwater gets ready to open next fall.
Construction has already begun on the first four buildings which contain 96 units. They are scheduled to be finished next summer.
Work on the rest of the complex is scheduled to start in the spring.
