ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Lions are off today. They return to the practice field tomorrow to get ready for Sunday’s home game against the Chicago Bears.
The Lions beat the Saints this past Sunday for their fourth straight win and seventh in eight games. They lead the NFC North at 8-and-4. Chicago is last at 3-and-9.
The Lions apparently will not have cornerback Quandre Diggs the rest of the way. NFL Insider Rand Getlin reports Diggs is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle. He was hurt in Sunday’s win at New Orleans. Undrafted rookie Adairius Barnes could be left to pick up the slack.
Andrew Luck threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns as the Colts hammered the Jets 41-10 at MetLife Stadium on “Monday Night Football.” Three of those Luck TDs went to tight end Dwayne Allen. Indianapolis improved to 6-and-6.
New York quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched for the third time this season after completing 5-of-12 passes for 81 yards and a pick in the first half. Bryce Petty threw a 40-yard score to Robby Anderson and two INTs replacing Fitzpatrick. The Jets are 3-and-9.
