COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For students and teachers in the Union City and Tekonsha School Districts, they will have a four day weekend. For those in the rest of the county, it will be a three day weekend, as the winter storm that dumped as much as 8 inches of snow on the area Sunday has caused the cancellation of classes Monday.
Most of the schools districts made their decisions to close by late afternoon Sunday. The list includes Coldwater, Quincy, Bronson, Union City, the Branch Intermediate School District, Pansophia Academy, St Charles Borromeo in Coldwater, and St Mary’s Assumption in Bronson.
The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service is scheduled to run through 4:00 a.m. Monday. It was cancelled early around 3:10 a.m.Monday.
A National Weather Service observer 2 miles southwest of Union City reports 8 1/2 inches of snow.
