COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Union City man was told to serve a sentence of 20 months to 20 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after entering a guilty plea to delivering methamphetamine.
27-year-old Ryan James Stoner was charged by Branch County Prosecutors after he sold meth to a confidential informant for the Southwest Michigan Enforcement Team on July 7th.
In exchange for his guilty plea, a methamphetamine possession charge was dismissed by prosecutors.
Stoner was also given credit for 81 days already served.
Defense attorney Terri Norris asked for local jail time for her client but prosecutor Ralph Kimball said Stoner was dealing meth in the community and with Branch County having a drug problem, this type of crime will not be tolerated.
