COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Southwest Michigan Enforcement Team says they recently conducted a bust at a home in Branch County where it’s believed $72,000 worth of power was diverted from Consumers Energy for the manufacture of marijuana.
The task force says the bust on November 22, 2016 came after a five month undercover investigation.
S.W.E.T. says 56 live plants were seized along with 12 pounds of processed marijuana and about 100 schedule 2 prescription medications.
The location of the bust as well as the names of the persons who may have been involved have not been released by investigators.
The investigation is continuing. No formal charges have been filed yet and no arrests have been made.
It was stated in a S.W.E.T. news release that the suspects were in violation of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act.
