COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Commissioners gave final approval to a 2017 General Fund budget of over $13.4 million on a 4-1 vote Tuesday afternoon.
County Administrator Bud Norman said it was a balanced budget but Commissioner Dale Swift voted no because he felt expenditures were being “grossly overestimated” for the year and that money from two reserve accounts was hardly being used.
Swift also voted no as Commissioners approved the General Fund Appropriations Act for the next year.
The $38.1 million Special Fund Budget for 2017 was passed on a 5-0 vote.
