COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners closed out 2016 by approving a three year contract with the union representing employees in the District Court and Circuit Court/Friend of the Court offices.
The contract with the Service Employees International Union runs through the end of 2019.
Under terms of the agreement, union workers in the court offices would get 1.6 percent pay raises in 2017 and 2018 and a two percent wage increase in 2019.
With the commissioner’s business for 2016 now finished, it’s time to look ahead to 2017 when three new commissioners will assume their places on the board.
Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak says the Branch County Board of Commissioners will hold their annual organizational meeting on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 starting at 9:00 a.m.
A swearing in ceremony involving new county commissioners Terri Norris, Leonard Kolcz and Ted Gordon will take place before the start of the meeting.
