TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – A spokesperson for Consumers Energy says a power line failure in Tekonsha is being blamed as the cause of a power outage Thursday that affected over of their 3,900 customers.
Most of the customers affected were in the northern part of Branch County and the southern part of Calhoun County.
Over 1,400 customers in Branch County and another 2,200 in Calhoun County lost power for several hours after the lights went out just after 11:00 a.m.
The outage affected just about all of Tekonsha, nearly two-thirds of Athens and about half of Burlington.
Power was restored to all customers by late afternoon Thursday.
