BRYAN, OHIO (WTVB) – A man who authorities say went on a three state crime spree over the last week after walking away from a medical leave at Hillsdale Hospital is in custody in Ohio,
The Williams County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Jade Herzog was apprehended early on New Year’s Day. Herzog was allegedly involved in crimes In Branch and Hillsdale Counties in Michigan as well as Steuben County in Indiana and Fulton and Williams Counties in Ohio.
Herzog is believed to have stolen from vehicles in Branch, Steuben and Hillsdale Counties on New Years Eve.
Herzog was arrested in Williams County early on New Year’s Day morning after he allegedly tried to ram a sheriff’s department car with a stolen vehicle and wound up crashing near Kunkle. Police say it was at least the fourth vehicle Herzog had allegedly stolen. Authorities say He he led police on a chase from Wauseon, Ohio to Williams County.
Herzog is now in protective observation at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.
He faces multiple felony charges along with his original drug charges in Hillsdale County. No officers were injured.
