BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – It has been determined by investigators that a man from Swanton, Ohio who was found dead November 26, 2016 in a field in southwestern Branch County near the Michigan-Indiana line was the victim of a hunting accident.
71-year-old Peter J. Herr was found dead near Gunthorp Road.
By the time Bronson firefighters, Life Care Ambulance and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources got to the scene, it was too late to save Herr. According to an obituary in the Toledo Blade, Herr had a passion for the great outdoors.
Michigan State Police also investigated the incident but released no information.
