QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school basketball, Coldwater used a 26-8 fourth quarter to break open a close game as they defeated Branch County rival Quincy 60-39 Tuesday night during the third annual Hoops for Hope game put on by the Branch County Suicide Prevention Coalition.
The Cardinals only led 34-31 after three quarters before they controlled the final stanza.
Coldwater’s Colin Warner scored a game-high 17 points after being held scoreless in the first half. McDonalds co-player of the game Dylan Targgart added 15 points while Gage McGuire had 11 points and Brady Beckhusen had 10 points.
McDonalds co-player of game Nathan Karney and William Dunn both had 11 points for Quincy.
Coldwater is now 4-1 while Quincy drops to 3-2. Coldwater won the J.V. game 51-35. Austin Santure led Coldwater with 15 points while Ryan Murphy had 13 points.

The Vikings improved to 5-0 but the Panthers gave them a battle. The game was tied 20-20 at the half. Bronson led 31-27 after three quarters and used a 17-11 final quarter to put the game away.
Concord 67, Quincy 48
The Orioles drop to 1-4 as they were outrebounded by Concord 30-19. Zoe Aseltine led Quincy with 16 points while Hannah Economou added 13 points and six rebounds.
