WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) – Calhoun Area Career Center counselor Terri Tchrozynski was honored Friday at the White House as one of the top school counselors in the country.
She has earned national recognition for her dedication to improving college and career readiness in her community.
The third annual “School Counselor of the Year” program was the last educational event held at the White House under the Obama administration.
The event is part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s and the U.S. Department of Education’s “Reach Higher Initiative” which focuses on the importance of education in the areas of college affordability, college exposure, academic planning and the role of school counselors.
