COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – All four Coldwater bowling teams won their matches against Jackson Northwest Wednesday night. Varsity boys were tied at the end of regulation and had to have a baker game roll off. Coldwater won the roll off with a score of 180-133. Varsity boys are now 2-0 in the conference. High scores for Coldwater were Alec Keplinger with a 190 game and a 366 series, Connor Covert with a 189 game and a 372 series, and Jaden Reichhart with a 176 and a 352 series. High bowler for Jackson was Rob Dunham with a 188 and a 362 series. Coldwater varsity girls defeated Jackson Northwest 30-0. Tiffanie Corwin had a high game of 171 with a 319 series, Cassidy Wolff had a 167 game with a 332 series. High for Jackson was Kaylee Hall with a 190 game and 346 series. The girls are now 2-0 in the conference.
The JV boys defeated Northwest 3-0. High game went to Bryton Philson with a 185 and a 316 series, Brandon Rifenburgh bowled a 178 game with a 339 series. For Jackson, Cody Breslin rolled a 123 game. The JV girls bowled unopposed again. High scores were Addison Harvey with a 144 game and 214 series, Stella Beerman with a 128 game and 146 series and Hannah Furney with a 128 game and a 238 series. Coldwater will host Pennfield on Tuesday at 3:30, and Parma Western on Wednesday at 3:00. Both meets will be at Midway Lanes.
In wrestling, Coldwater won both of their matches at the I-8 quad defeating Parma Western 55-18 and Battle Creek Pennfield 78-0. Coldwater is now 4-0 in the I-8 and 14-2 overall. Going 2-0 on the night were

Union City won a couple of Big 8 conference matches as they defeated Athens 45-32 and Concord 42-41. More on Union City wrestling with coach Randy Widener later on the Coaches Corner.
In gymnastics, Jackson Lumen Christi defeated Coldwater, 135.575 to 129.675
In spite of the loss, Coldwater tallied their highest team score since the school record was broken seven years ago.
The Cardinal gymnasts opened their competition on the vault collecting six individual qualifying scores. Sophomore Erica Rodgers, returning from injury, claimed a 4th place finish, opening her season with a personal best on the apparatus at 8.45. Coldwater scored their highest bars score of the season with 30.375. Rodgers repeated her efforts from the first event, leading the Cardinals in scoring and earning a personal best score of 7.95. She earned a qualifying mark on the event, along with three of her teammates.
On the balance beam Coldwater only posted two individual qualifying scores. Claire Sheppard earned a 4th place finish with a qualifying score of 8.075.
Coldwater posted the highest event total in more than a decade in floor exercise with a score of 35.6. Every Cardinal that performed earned a personal best score. Sheppard claimed top honors with her floor performance, posting an impressive 9.25 points, her personal best. Erica Rodgers also claimed a spot on the awards stand for her 4th place, personal best effort of 9.0 points.
Rodgers finished third In the all-around as she had a personal best all-around score of 33.325. Sheppard tallied 31.975 points which was her personal best as well.
Coldwater travels to Lowell on Saturday for the Red Arrows annual invitational.
