HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – Both of the Coldwater varsity basketball teams will be looking to stay on the winning track tonight at Hastings. The boys have won six in a row and are in the thick of the battle for first place in the Interstate 8 with a 5-1 conference record. Thanks to their winning streak, Coldwater has an overall record of 8-1.
Meanwhile, the Coldwater girls will be trying to win their fourth straight. They are 8-2 overall and 4-2 in the Interstate 8.

In another girls/boys doubleheader, Quincy will host Jonesville on Quincy’s Hall of Fame night. Also in boys basketball tonight, Bronson will host Cassopolis while in girls basketball, Union City will host Reading.

The Chargers drop to 1-4 in the Big 8 and 5-5 overall. Elijah Harris led the Chargers with 16 points.
The Coldwater JV boys continued their hot streak with a 49-25 victory over visiting Hastings on Thursday. The Cardinals were paced by Ryan Murphy with 11 points.

The Coldwater JV Lady Cards lost to Hastings 36-32. Kelsi Herlan led the team with a double double (10 points & 11 rebounds)
The Coldwater freshman girls also lost to Hastings 31-26. Taylor Wilber had 11 points and six steals.

The 8th Grade Lady Cardinal White Basketball beat HarperCreek 30-26 while the 8th grade A team lost to Harper Creek 47-27.
Coldwater’s 7th grade A team defeated Harper Creek 59-31. The 7th grade B team opened the season with a come from behind 31-30 victory against Harper Creek.
The Bronson 8th grade girls basketball team improved their record to 2-0 by defeating Homer 22 to 15. The Bronson 7th graders also won 16-8 at Homer
