COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Steps continue to be taken for the eventual takeover of the Community Health Center of Branch County by Toledo-Based ProMedica Health Systems.
Acting upon a committee recommendation, the hospital Board of Trustees waived an annual review of the bylaws Monday night since ProMedica will be taking over soon.
Hospital President and Chief Executive Officer Randy DeGroot said a review would not be time well spent.
It was also mentioned during the meeting that board members were sent an e-mail from ProMedica for an appraisal of DeGroot that has to be submitted by February 10, 2017.
During his Planning Commission report, board member John Morrell Jr said ProMedica also wanted to do a security assessment and look into an Urgent Care facility.
The hospital and ProMedica Health have entered into a strategic management agreement that could lead to the sale of the hospital to the Toledo-based non-profit sometime before 2018.
