COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence is hoping the community will help them “Swing for the Fence”.
The Swing for the Fence project will consist of three phases.
Executive Director Kim Hemker says they are hoping to build a new low maintenance vinyl fence to replace the current wood fence as part of the first phase.
The second phase is a playground area that will include a swing set along equipment for children between the ages of five and 12.
The final phase will be a smaller playground area for Laura’s Place.
Hemker estimated it will take at least 750 hours of volunteer time on the project.
She says the project will result in a significant impact to the community as children need a nice and safe place to play and a place to escape the trauma that has been a part of their previous life.
