GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – Detroit Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard is expected to return to the ice next week after he was taken out of his second rehab start with the Grand Rapids Griffins earlier this week.
Howard has been out of Detroit’s lineup since late December with a knee injury and left the game against Manitoba in the third period Wednesday. Wings general manager Ken Holland said a doctors exam found that Howard had an irritation of scar tissue and the issue is a minor setback.
