COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Branch County Circuit Court drug trial is off the docket after the defendant entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors.
28-year-old Donta Antonio Scott entered a no contest plea to an amended count of maintaining a drug house. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 6, 2017.
Scott was charged following an investigation by Coldwater Police into what was described in court documents as a “drug house”.
He was originally charged last summer with Delivery and Manufacturing Marijuana as well as two counts of being in possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine. All those charges will be dismissed in exchange for the plea to the amended count.
According to court documents, a warrant for his arrest was issued July 11, 2016 after police went to a home on Taylor Street on a report of a breaking and entering in progress.
After getting a search warrant for the house, police say they found heroin, cocaine and marijuana inside. Scott was one of four persons in the house at the time of the discovery by police.
