CHARLOTTE, MI (WTVB) – In boys swimming and diving, Coldwater won eight out of the 12 events as they won at Charlotte 125-52 Thursday night. The Cardinal swim team now has its first winning streak in their short 2 year history.
Winning individual events for the Cardinals were Tanner Bowers in the 200 Freestyle, Carter Moore in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly, Austin Butler in the one meter dive and Lucas Santure in the 100 Breaststroke. Butler broke his own record in the one meter dive. The Coldwater boys also won all three relay events and set a new team record in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Both of Coldwater’s varsity bowling teams won at Sturgis on Thursday night. The Coldwater girls defeated Sturgis 25-5. Both teams were tied after the first game. Coldwater won the second game 898 to 733 to take the regular matches and series 1,664-1,499. In the baker portion Coldwater won 173-163 and 146-115. Tiffanie Corwin had a 218 game and a 386 series while Samantha Youse rolled a 202 game and had a 383 series.
The Coldwater boys’ had to go to a roll off to stay undefeated. They lost the first regular game 1,061-946 but won the second game 1,022 to 970. In the baker series, Coldwater won the first game 234-176 but lost the second game 225-215 to face a roll off which Coldwater won 204-170. JadenReichhart had games of 230 and 243 for a 473 series. Alec Keplinger had a 210 game and a 413 series.
Coldwater j.v. boys also won their match 27-3 as they remained undefeated. Kaleb Champion had a 208 game while Gavin Duke had a 192 game and a 360 series. Both of the Coldwater j.v. teams will be attending the j.v. state meet this weekend in Detroit.
Bronson will be at Kalamazoo Hackett today for their league championship meet.
