BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Officials in Bronson say the Memorial Park Crowdfunding project is nearing the end and they are close to reaching their goal.
According to a post on the city’s Facebook page, only $1,290 is needed to reach the goal of $12,500. If the goal is met by March 10th, Bronson will get a matching grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Public Spaces Community Places program. Anything raised over the goal will reduce the City’s matching portion.
The crowdfunding campaign is being used as a way to support the completion of the final phase of the park in downtown Bronson.
The City is redeveloping the park in honor of longtime Mayor Thomas Rissman. The first two phases have involved the relocation of the gazebo and the installation of a brick paved walk way.
The final phase will involve the creation of a water feature as well as landscaping and irrigation improvements. For project details and to donate, log onto www.Patronicity.com/MemorialPark. You can also go to the city’s Facebook page.
