COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The mild weather which moved in late last week and has featured temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees above normal is expected to last through the end of this week before more seasonal weather moves in for the weekend.
The National Weather Service says the February warmth in the central and eastern parts of the country is being caused by what forecasters are calling an expansive high pressure aloft.
Coldwater set two record highs over the weekend and may set another one Wednesday.
Coldwater’s record high for Wednesday is 67 degrees set back in 1930 and the forecast is calling for highs in the upper 60’s.
Highs Thursday are expected to be in the low 60’s and around 60 on Friday, before dropping into the upper 30’s with snow showers likely on Saturday.
