COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Both of the Coldwater bowling teams defeated Bronson on Wednesday. The Cardinals and Vikings split the regular games in the boys match but Coldwater won both of the baker games to win the match 24-6. High scores for Coldwater were Jaden Reichhart with a 213 game and a 363 series while Alec Keplinger had a 384 series. Brandon Hyska had a 244 game and a 442 series for Bronson.
The Coldwater girls won their match 30-0. Alysia VanWormer led Coldwater with a 198 game and a 353 series while Tiffanie Corwin had a 147 game and a 293 series. Mac Love led Bronson with a 163 game and a 272 series while Chance Hicks had a 143 game and a 278 series.
The Coldwater varsity squads split their matches with Sturgis on Tuesday. The Coldwater boys won 30-0. Coldwater’s Alec Keplinger had a 289 game and a 484 series. Sturgis defeated Coldwater in the girls match. Cassidy Wolff led Coldwater with a 173 game and a 326 series.
Coldwater will compete in the regionals over the weekend in Kalamazoo.

Coldwater 125.3, St. John’s 114.825
The Coldwater Gymnastics team finished out their regular season on Wednesday night with a 125.3 to 114.825 victory at St. John’s which brought the final record to 4-4.
Coldwater swept every event to secure the win. The Cardinals took the first three spots on the uneven bars. Erica Rodgers won the event followed by Claire Sheppard and Brooke Neitzert. Sheppard and Rodgers tied for first in the vault as they each had scores of 8.35. Neitzert finished third.
Rodgers won floor exercise with a score of 8.775 which was the highest individual score of the night. Sheppard was second with a mark of 8.675. Kelani Phillip and Sheppard tied for first on the balance beam as they each had a score of 8.175.
Rodgers won the all-around with a total score of 32.65 while Sheppard was second.
Coldwater has the upcoming week to make their final preparations for the postseason. The MHSAA Gymnastics Regional competition will be held at Kenowa Hills High School on Saturday, March 4th. The Cardinals qualified as a team to compete in the event. They also have six individual qualifiers.

The Union City 8th graders lost to Concord 19-11 in the second round of the Big 8 tournament. Kassidy Bishop led the the Chargers with six points. The Chargers are now 7-4 on the season. They will be finish up the season on Saturday against Quincy in Springport at 12:30 pm.
The Union City 7th graders defeated Springport 15-14 in the semi-finals of the Big 8 basketball tournament. Megann Russell had a game high eight points. Union City advances to the 7th grade championship game against Reading.
