KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB)- The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) girls basketball tournament starts tonight. Coldwater will open the Class A district tournament at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix against Battle Creek Central.
Coldwater is 15-5 while the Bearcats have only won twice this season. Game time is 6:00 p.m. Coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB and on line at www.wtvbam.com starts at 5:30 p.m. with Ken Delaney and Mike Murphy.
The winner will face Sturgis in the semifinals at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Battle Creek Lakeview will face Kalamazoo Loy Norrix in the second game tonight. The winner plays Gull Lake Wednesday.
The Class C Districts start tonight at Bronson with the host Vikings facing Quincy in the opening game at 5:30 p.m. The winner will face Union City at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Tonight’s second game pits Jonesville against Reading with the winner playing Homer in Wednesday’s semi-finals.

The Coldwater Exchange Club 9th Grade Basketball Tournament starts tonight at Legg Middle School. The first game at 5:30 p.m. has Sturgis facing Loy Norrix followed by Jackson against Jackson Lumen Christi.
Coldwater’s first game will be tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. against Schoolcraft. Each of the eight teams in the tournament are guaranteed three games. The finals will be Saturday night at 7:15 p.m.

Union City’s 8th grade team lost to Quincy 26-19 in their season finale Saturday as part of the Big 8 Conference tournament at Springport. Kassidy Bishop had 11 points for Union City as they finished 7-5.
