COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County of Commissioners officially approved on a 5-0 vote the transfer of a Sheriffs Department Corrections Officer to road patrol at their meeting Tuesday.
The additional road deputy had been sought by Sheriff John Pollack after half of the road patrol was trimmed during budget cuts five years ago.
It’s estimated the cost to fill the road deputy position would be over $21,000 and the cost to fill the corrections position would be over $34,000.
Commissioners also approved the posting of the open corrections position.
