COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Planning Commission is scheduled to consider a request Monday night to rezone over 10 acres of property at 190 East Garfield that would be part of a proposed 55 lot manufactured home development.
The land is in the process of being transferred from Coldwater Township to the City of Coldwater. Farrell-Roeh LLC wants to rezone the land from Coldwater Township R3 Medium Density Residential to the City of Coldwater A-A One Family Agricultural Residential District. The land is owned by the developer.
The Plan Commission is scheduled to make a recommendation to the City Council. A decision by the Council on the rezoning is scheduled to take place March 27, 2017.
The Plan Commission is also scheduled to approve an updated version of the city’s Master Plan which has been worked on for over a year. The policy document will guide land use, zoning ordinance changes, and overall development goals for many years to come.
The city’s Master Plan was last adopted in December 2002. Prior Master Plans were adopted in 1994 and 1977 following the original document being approved in 1959.
Also on a rather busy agenda will be a request from Envirolite Properties at 421 Race Street to add a 43,700 square foot addition to its industrial facility and a request from U.S. 12 Auto Repair for a paved parking lot to replace the current gravel parking area.
