UNDATED (WTVB) – Consumers Energy is reporting that the vast majority of customers without electric service should have power restored by midnight Saturday.
Restoration work in some of the hardest areas, including portions of Barry, Calhoun, Ionia, Jackson, Kent and Lenawee counties will continue into Sunday.As of 6:00am Saturday morning, there were over 46,000 Consumers Energy customers that were entering a third day without power following Wednesday’s strong winds that featured gusts over 60 miles an hour.
That included 434 customers in Branch County. As many as 3,000 Branch County customers were out at the height of the outages.
As for neighboring counties, nearly 3,400 customers were out in Calhoun County which included about 1,500 in Battle Creek. Another 2,471 were still out in Hillsdale County while 84 customers were without power in St. Joseph County and over 1,400 were out in Kalamazoo County.
The number of outages in the Coldwater area was down to 89 early Saturday morning after being at a peak of over 1,200. There were still 126 customers out in Quincy. As for other parts of Branch County, 36 customers were out in Bronson, 45 in Union City and 57 in Sherwood.
