COLDWATER, MI 9WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council Monday night approved a resolution to apply for a grant from the state for new voting system.
The new equipment would include precinct tabulators, accessible voting devices for those with disabilities and related Election Management System software.
City Clerk Susan Heath said the grant would save the city $30,000 for equipment that all communities will be required to have over the next 18 months.
With the grant, the City will be billed for equipment maintenance for the first five years. The new equipment could be ready for the Primary election in August.
