COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- Coldwater City Council members were invited Monday night to join the local chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Michigan in celebrating their 150th birthday on April 20, 2017 at the Masonic Temple on East Chicago.
Dee Ann Pann told the Council the occasion on April 20 will also mark the 100th anniversary that the local group has been using the Masonic Temple.
Pann told the Council a lot of state and international officers will be on hand for the celebration.
According to the Michigan Historical Marker outside of the Masonic Temple, the Coldwater Masons and their female relatives formed the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in 1867, which eventually became the oldest continuous Eastern Star chapter in the world.
