COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two people were formally arraigned in Branch County District Court Thursday on prostitution related charges.
A third suspect arrested in connection with the case is free after posting bond at the Branch County Jail and is expected to be arraigned at a later time.
All three suspects are from outside of Branch County. They were arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation which started with a traffic stop on U.S. 12 in Coldwater.
One of the suspects, Frederick Nathan Johnson of Detroit, was being held on a $300,000 bond in the Branch County Jail due in part to a past criminal history. He was arraigned on charges of prostitution transporting person, prostitution accepting earnings and possession of marijuana.
A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for April 11 with a preliminary exam April 18, 2017.
Meanwhile, Krystal Marie Martens of Battle Creek is facing charges of prostitution accosting and soliciting, driving while license was suspended, providing false identification and operating while intoxicated. Her bond is set at $25,000 and a pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 4th.
The third suspect, Noel Guadalupe Chavez-Quezada, was booked for engaging the service of a prostitute. He was released after posting bond.
