COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It maybe the first week of April but drivers will have to be in a winter driving mode Thursday.
Rain changed over to snow across much of the area early Thursday morning and temperatures had dropped to around freezing.
Although accumulations are expected to only be an inch or less, some slick spots may develop on roadways early Thursday morning.
Be especially cautious on bridges and overpasses which will freeze first in these situations.
Temperatures should warm up a bit after daybreak allowing for any snow on pavement surfaces to melt.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Wind Advisory across the region from 12 noon until 10:00 p.m. Thursday, with wind gusts expected as high as 45 miles per hour.
