COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There maybe another delay in the trial for two suspects in the March 2016 robbery of Century Bank and Trust’s branch office in Quincy.
A motion to adjourn the April 25, 2017 trial date for 33-year-old John Thomas Morgan and 30-year-old Nikole Collins is on the Branch County Circuit Court docket for Monday afternoon.
The reason behind the motion was not known as of Friday.
If granted, it would be the second delay in the trial.
The trial was originally scheduled to start January 31, 2017 but it was delayed when it looked like federal prosecutors would get involved in the case.
Morgan and Collins are both facing seven charges in connection with the robbery. They have entered not guilty pleas to three counts of bank robbery, three counts of unarmed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery.
The suspects were apprehended about a week after the robbery near Cincinnati.
Quincy Police, the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police and the FBI were all involved in the investigation of the robbery.
