COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council is scheduled Monday night to formally approve a new Master Plan for the city.
It has not been updated since 2002. Work on the updated version started in November 2015.
The 109 page Master Plan will guide land use, zoning ordinance changes and overall development goals in Coldwater for years to come.
The updated version stated that in essence, residents of Coldwater continue to support community attributes such as having a strong downtown, preserving historic character, creating mobility options, offering diverse housing choices, and protecting natural features and resources.
It was suggested a proposed roundabout at State and Marshall should be considered as a long-term and lower priority project
The report also said the city should continue to develop plans to create a western gateway.
The Poggemeyer Design Group of Monroe helped put the new Master Plan together.
