BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson has announced the Memorial Park crowdfunding campaign through Patronicity was a success as they went nearly $8,000 over the fundraising goal.
The campaign raised $20,860 from the community after the project’s fundraising goal was set at $12,500.
The campaign included more than 30 contributors. Nine of the contributors donated at least $1,000.
With the fundraising goal met, the City of Bronson will receive a matching grant of $12,500 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority’s Public Spaces, Community Places Grant Program.
Work on the project is scheduled to be completed prior to the 48th Annual Bronson Polish Festival in July.
The park improvements will involve the creation of a water feature as well as landscaping and irrigation improvements along with an additional brick pathway.
Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman says once the project is completed, the park will make a great gathering place for the community as well as visitors.
