COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Planning Commission is scheduled Monday night to consider a Special Land Use Permit petition for the development of a Child Group Day Care Home at a residence at 129 Central Park Drive.
Jennifer Barnett is the petitioner. Interim Coldwater Plan Director Dean Walrack says the site has a fenced rear yard.
It is in the Second Ward’s Irwin Park Manor subdivision and is in an established single-family zoned neighborhood.
The Child Group Day Care home would be allowed to handle between seven and 12 children.
Walrack says one person has called to object to the Special Land Use Permit because the caller felt there was an abundance of child care facilities nearby. They also had a concern about traffic.
In addition on Monday, the Planning Commission is scheduled to consider a request from Envirolite Properties at 421 Race Street for a 53,700 square foot addition to a manufacturing facility on over 10 acres of land.
The addition was approved last month by the Planning Commission but the applicant has decided to pursue alterations to the site that were so significant, it needed further discussion before the Planning Commission. The revisions generally cover off street parking, storm water management and alternative emergency drive surfacing.
