BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB)- Former Arc of Calhoun County director Kimberly Hommerding has been charged with embezzlement after prosecutors claimed she improperly used the agency’s credit cards for personal spending between 2006 and 2015.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the 39-year-old Hommerding was charged last week for embezzling between $1,000 and $20,000 from Arc.
Prosecutors say that does not account for spending beyond a six-year statute of limitations.
Hommerding, her mother and boyfriend were all placed on leave for undisclosed reasons two years ago after holding positions at Arc. If she is convicted, Hommerding is looking at up to 10 years in prison.
The Arc of Calhoun County provides advocacy through education, employment, and volunteerism for persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
