COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A lower demand for gasoline after Spring Break has lead to a drop in gas prices across the state, as well as in the Coldwater and Branch County area.
AAA Michigan says the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Michigan is down six cents. The auto club says the mark settled at $2.50.
“It’s kind of the tail end of spring break, so there’s less demand for gas,” spokesperson Susan Hiltz said. “After a pretty big jump last week, we’re seeing a little bit of a drop this week.”
Hiltz said it’s relief before an expected summer spike.
“We’re still moving into the more-expensive summer blend gas and there are some international issues going on with OPEC,” Hiltz said.
www.gasbuddy.com Monday afternoon listed gas prices between $2.43 and $2.44 per gallon around Coldwater. In Bronson, the price iwas $2.39 per gallon. Other prices include Sturgis: $2.21, Hillsdale: $2.43, and Angola, Indiana: $2.33.
