QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A long time former Quincy school teacher is facing six charges of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having inappropriate sexual relations with a teenage girl who was one of his students.
Following a Branch County Sheriff’s Department investigation, warrants were served at the Battle Creek home of Jason Farrell Wednesday.
The warrants were served by the Branch and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Departments as well as police from Marshall and Emmet Township.
Farrell was later booked at the Branch County Jail on two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and four third degree CSC counts.
His bond is $300,000 following a Branch County District Court video arraignment on Thursday.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for April 27th with a preliminary exam on May 4th.
According to court documents, the alleged first degree C.S.C. incidents took place in August 2016, while the other four alleged incidents happened last October and November.
Documents also state the alleged victim was 15 years old at the time of the August incidents and was 16 years old when the alleged incidents in October and November took place.
Farrell was employed by the Quincy School District for 20 years. He resigned in January on the same day the district placed him on leave in connection with the allegations.
Branch County Court documents indicate he was working at the Franke Center in Marshall at the time of his arrest.
