COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Education passed a resolution Monday night which calls for the district to enter into a sales agreement with the City of Coldwater for the purchase of the former Little League diamonds on Western Avenue.
Superintendent Terry Boguth pointed out the agreement is contingent upon the passage of a bonding resolution by voters in the Coldwater School District in November 2017.
The district wants to use the land to build a proposed 4th and 5th grade building that would be used as a replacement for Lakeland Elementary School.
The Little League site was one of several locations the school district explored for the new building. In turn, the city will put in new youth ball fields at Heritage Park.
