COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – High winds on two occasions this winter caused damage to the north side of the Branch Area Career Center roof. The first wind event took place in February. The second happened March 8 when winds reached over 60 miles an hour.
Branch Intermediate School District Business Manager Diane Shiery says work on the roof will start shortly.
Division 7 Contractors will be doing the repairs after submitting a bid of just under $128,000. The work will include re-roofing the north end of the Career Center.
The new materials are warrantied to withstand winds up to 72 miles an hour.
Since it was an act of nature, the B.I.S.D. will have the repairs covered by insurance except for a $1,000 deductible.
